Exciting new developments have taken place over the past 3 weeks, and I am excited to share with you some of our major leaps forward with the Shield Me App systems. We took a leap before, but since our last update we have well surpassed our initial accomplishments.
I am excited to share with you that we are extremely close to being ready for our alpha testing phase within the next month!
What's New on the Front End:
Completed Learning Hub Prototype: We have completed a dynamic learning article list and dynamic article pages that provide users access to various learning articles surrounding common scams, examples of what those scams look like, and how to notice the warning signs of those particular scams.
Completed Family Code System: Subscribers seeking to take family members under their wing can use our family code system, which allows new users to join a family member's subscription via their "family code" which at this time is the subscription owner's email address. The number of family members each subscription holder can have will be dependent on subscription tiers which will have more information released once it is available.
Completed Shield Me Help Bot: An expert on all things fraud, our new HelpBot is trained to assist in identifying ongoing scams, address questions user have about scams, and provide insights on ways to avoid scams. Once user how-to documents are available, our Help Bot will also be able to guide users through how to use our app in an easily understandable way.
Completed Full User Settings System: User settings now hold their value even when the user is not logged in, ensuring settings are updated no matter where the user signs in. For subscription holders, the primary settings of the family members under that person's account will be controlled by the subscription holder unless the co-parent setting is toggled on.
What's New on the Back End:
Completed Vonage OTP System: Users can now be One Time Passcode (OTP) verified via text message to ensure secure entry and data security for our users. OTP will be required for all users logging in for the first time, and users logging in to a new device for the first time.
Added Google Authentication / Login option: Due to the upcoming deprecation of the system we are currently using to manage email logins, we are converting the app to be capable of using Google and Apple authentication to allow users to have a seamless login and verification experience. This will also further secure access to our app's systems, and will significantly lower risk of fraudulent entry.
Coming Soon:
Subscription tier validation system (integration into current family join request system)
Google Play Subscription system integration
Apple App Store Subscription system integration
Move API hosting to a cloud based service
Native Phone Integration (Allow Microphone Access, Files Access, Phone Access, etc.)
With all that has been accomplished so far, I am confident the Shield Me App is going to change how mobile phone users view fraud safety. I am proud to be part of such an amazing development, and I look forward to sharing our progress again in our next report.
Stay tuned,
