Our Story
Shield Me LLC began as the vision of its founder, Jonathan Reece Tofaute. After more than three years in banking, he repeatedly witnessed clients lose their life savings to sophisticated social engineering and account takeover scams. These weren’t isolated incidents, they were patterns, growing more frequent and more damaging each year.
When members of his own family also fell victim to fraud that drained their hard-earned money, he realized the problem extended far beyond the branch. The industry had strong tools for cybersecurity, but almost nothing to protect the conversation itself, the place where social engineers succeed most.
Determined to close that gap, Reece spent over a year planning and designing what would become the Shield Me system: an advanced real-time social engineering detection and conversational auditing platform built specifically for financial institutions. With Shield Me, banks and credit unions finally have the ability to automatically detect, escalate, or terminate calls when indicators of fraud or out-of-policy behavior appear.
From early sketches on paper to the powerful prototype we have today, Shield Me is transforming a firsthand realization into a comprehensive protection system for financial institutions and the customers who depend on them.
